Chief Aircraft Engineer

A Chief Aircraft Engineer is required to join an engineering team who are working on the design and development of light helicopters for the global market. The company design, develop and manufacture their products in the UK.
With extensive financial backing and a growing order book they are seeking to grow their engineering team and require a Chief Aircraft Engineer join their team. The Chief Aircraft Engineer will drive all areas of the aircraft systems, technology, and engineering, from design and analysis through to production in current and future aircraft programmes. The Chief Aircraft Engineer will report directly to the Group CEO

As Chief Aircraft Engineer - you will be required to;
- Take ownership of the programme both technically and operationally, utilize your technical and engineering leadership skills to deliver aircraft programmes
- Provide engineering design leadership at architecture, system, and component level
- Provide detailed analysis, optimisation, and verification leadership
- Provide leadership on verification, validation, and certification of all areas of the aircraft
- Lead, grow and manage the team of specialists to deliver aircraft to specification and on budget
- Support the develop & execution the testing, validation, and certification plan
- Manage, drive and deliver the day-to-day operations of the programme ensuring a properly co-ordinated and speedy development
- Work together with Chief Propulsion & Chief Avionics Engineers for prototype and series production
As Chief Aircraft Engineer - you will have;
- Degree qualified or equivalent with proven experience in the technical leadership & delivery of complex engineered composite vehicles, in aircraft or related industries
- Have proven knowledge & experience of aircraft systems, composite structures, materials, design, development, analysis, and production techniques
- Be capable of planning and executing the development of new aircraft end-to-end
- Confidence, competence, strength, integrity, and interpersonal skills to take full ownership of the aircraft programme and drive the wider team to a successful outcome
- Have excellent communication skills at all levels and be an inclusive and supportive leader
