Jonathan Lee Recruitment is working with a client looking for a Principal Engineer in Climate System (HVAC) Design in Cranfield, and the role comes with a contract rate of £29.60 per hour.

As a Principal Engineer in Climate System (HVAC) Design, you will project manage a variety of vehicle projects for both lifecycle and new model development timing, incorporating the key safety-related milestones. You will also have the ability to benchmark and compare those models to investigate cost-reduction opportunities. Unfortunately, the client cannot progress candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK.

In your first few weeks in this Principal Engineer in Climate System (HVAC) Design role, you can expect to:

• Project manage a variety of vehicle projects for both lifecycle and new model development timing, incorporating the key safety-related milestones
• Cost and budget management for current and new models, with the ability to benchmark and compare those models to investigate cost reduction opportunities
• Define new Concepts for current & new models based on regulation and project requirements
• Undertake validation of system and component performance from test and highlight concern areas with potential solutions

To apply for this Principal Engineer in Climate System (HVAC) Design role, you will need five years of automotive experience, ideally with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier and have covered at least one project from conception to completion on the design side. You will also require the following:

• Climate System or similar mechatronics system design experience
• Degree in Engineering or a similar discipline
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with knowledge of Design Review, FTA and FMEA methods
• Microsoft Office proficiency
