Title: 1D Simulation Tool Developer - 38218

Division: Powertrain

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: - up to £33.92/hr Ltd umbrella

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Supporting identification of PT Systems 1D CAE tool and/or process enhancement requirements to meet current & future powertrain
• 1D systems analysis needs Delivery of PT Systems CAE tool and/or process enhancements, e.g. analysis automation or new features introduction
• Delivery of complementary tool and/or process enhancements, e.g. model input / NGD management
• Work with the CAE delivery engineers to ensure process documentation is maintained
• Liaise with all internal customers of our business as well as offshore operations where necessary
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Use of Matlab for the purposes of analysis automation
• Affinity with coding and tool development
• Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
• Able to identify and respond to the strengths and limitations of computer-based modelling and simulation
• Ability to develop highly effective cross-departmental relationships
• Proven capability to identify and implement tool and process improvements Use of version control systems such as SVN or Git Experience with object-oriented programming in Matlab
• Good analytical capability and breadth of CAE experience in modelling Powertrain in Matlab/Simulink
• Proven success in complex 1D system model and/or code development, analysis automation, validation and correlation
• A strong working knowledge of conventional and electrified powertrain architectures and operating characteristics

Skills Preferred:

• Experience of Powertrain physical test and/or calibration
• Proven Powertrain system analysis & optimisation experience
