We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader within Logistics.  The position will be based In Main Stores. 

Over time there is a potential for you to rotate through PDC and Raw Materials, with additional training being provided as required.

 

Job Description

This is a role which thrives on communication, both with your team and internal customers (Purchasing and production sections).

Your responsibilities will include leading your team within on-plant Logistics.

Responsible for managing the health, safety, and environmental issues, including completing risk assessment and identifying safe methods of working. - Training will be given in this area.

Confidently run the daily SQDCP meetings with your team.

You will be responsible for the stock accuracy by ensuring the timely completion of AX transactions.

Responsible for promoting high standards of 5S.

 

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Confidence to motivate, monitor and coach individuals and have difficult conversations.
  • The drive & determination to promote 5S & SQDCP activities.
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Always maintains a professional demeanour.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • High energy levels.
  • Demonstrates high levels of ownership.
  • Computer literate.
  • Familiar with AX.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working within a logistics environment.
  • FLT trained (not essential as training can be provided).
  • You may already have or you will be willing to gain ILM Level 3 qualification - Mazak will sponsor you to complete this.
  • The shift pattern will be early/late rotation.

Pay for the role is £14.85 - £16.42 per hour D.O.E and the pay rate includes shift allowance.

Hours for the role are rotating shifts which are 05:30am - 1:30pm Monday to Friday and then onto the PM Shift which is 2:00pm - 10:30pm Monday to Thursday and Friday is 2:00pm - 8:00pm.

The Parts Control Team Leader position will lead the Sheet Metal Department Parts Control Team. The team’s primary goal is to support the SMD manufacturing and production section by collaborating closely with internal and external supervisors, as well as the purchasing, planning, and EDM teams. Together, you will ensure that the correct parts arrive at the machine build in a timely manner and proactively address any challenges that could impact the line’s ability to deliver on time to our customers.

Job Description

  • This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence on the shop floor.
  • You will work closely with production line staff to support them in achieving 100% on-time power-off dates.
  • Ensure kits arrive at the line on time by auditing them for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify internal shortages and agree on corrective action plans with the supply section to keep power-off dates on track.
  • Support production teams and quickly resolve part availability issues as they arise.
  • Identify root causes of material supply errors and implement corrective actions to improve BOM, MOS, and supply accuracy, reducing future issues.
  • Ensure AX transactions are completed correctly to maintain stock accuracy in production, including transfer orders, scrap journals, and works orders.
  • Set weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meets required daily output.
  • Report daily on any issues related to receiving parts internally.
  • Manage risk assessments, staff training plans, and SDQCP activities.
  • Maintain and control quality levels, promoting high standards throughout the team.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments to maintain smooth machine flow through to the Modular and Assembly area.
  • Ensure Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented and kept up to date for staff.
  • Promote a positive culture by engaging staff in improvements and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Drive 5S activities within your team.
  • Report and update section KPI results regularly

Essential Criteria for the Parts Control Team Leader

  • You’ll be a high-energy, can-do individual who is computer literate, takes full ownership of their work, and is familiar with supply functions including purchasing, stores and logistics.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of the flow of parts through modular and production section.
  • Knowledge of the workings of the Sheet Metal department.
  • Proven Leader, with deliverables in all key areas: SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People)
  • Understanding of AX transactions.

Mazak's Spindle Service Centre (SSC) is a dedicated resource that maximises Spindle performance for their customers.

The department is looking to invest in capacity to align production with the increased demand for SSC-repaired spindles.

The successful candidate will be part of the Spindle Strip & Wash team based at the PDC site, working together to achieve targets set by the area team leader.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities

  • Transport between the PDC, the SSC main site, and external suppliers.
  • The loading of goods in and goods out
  • To book in spindles using SSC database
  • Strip down returned broken spindles.
  • Clean parts using approved methods.
  • Test spindle stators to check if they are good to reuse.
  • Inspect stripped parts to determine if they can be reused.
  • Follow health & safety guidelines.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • UK Driving licence
  • Computer literate using the SSC database and Microsoft software.
  • Self-motivated and organised with the ability to plan.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Keen to learn new skills and transfer knowledge within the team, always acting as a team player.
  • Has a problem-solving mindset.

Our client is a specialist global manufacturer that creates a range of engineered solution-based products that are used across hundreds of industries worldwide and they are seeking an experienced Contract Design Engineer to join their team. As a Design Engineer, your role will focus on creating new product designs using Siemens NX CAD software, reviewing & developing legacy products and ensuring that design solutions meet the clients technical requirements.

Design Engineer Responsibilities:

-            Manage design projects from initial concept through to production.

-            Problem solve and create engineering solutions that meet customer specifications.

-            Create detailed 2D & 3D designs using CAD software (Siemens NX).

-            Review and develop legacy designs when required.

-            Provide technical support to customers, engineers and the wider engineering team.
