What You Will Do as Principal Studio Engineer:

  • Lead and oversee the development of engineering solutions, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and functional requirements
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to deliver high-quality results
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the delivery of innovative projects
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Act as a key liaison between design and engineering teams, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and project outcomes

What You Will Bring as Principal Studio Engineer;

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the automotive industry, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects for interiors (Instrument Panel and/or Centre Console)
  • A good working knowledge of using Catia for generating geometry and investigating designs
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and manufacturing constraints
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to achieving excellence in every project

A CAS Modeller is required to join a Coventry based OEM, you will work within a vehicle concepts group and be part of a team who are responsible for the development of new vehicle concepts and early phase definition of the next generation electric vehicles. The CAS Modeller will create and release surfaces that faithfully capture design intent.

As CAS Modeller - you will be required to

  • To create and release surfaces that faithfully capture design intent. Surfaces are aesthetically-optimised and to a high quality of execution that meet specified standards.
  •  To assist the creative process by interpreting 2D sketches into 3D data for design iteration and approval.
  • To assist the technical development process by integrating engineering, manufacturing and key technical attributes concurrently with design intent during surface creation.
  • Sketch 3D Surfaces to aid aesthetic Design development
  • Create initial theme proposals to support aesthetic and feasibility studies
  • Create surfaces of themes for engineering feasibility verification
  • Create surface release for design approval
  • Create surface release that provide foundation for production surfacing activity

As CAS Modeller - you will have

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with proven experience in creative & technical digital surface creation using Alias
  • Proven experience as an CAS Modeller
  • Experience of working with engineering inputs
  • Ability to interpret design sketches to create appropriate surface proposals
  • Can plan time to meet given deadlines

 What You Will Do:

- Lead the delivery of the Design Vision from concept to production, ensuring efficiency and clarity.

- Coordinate all Vehicle Design activities in line with the company's creative and business priorities.

- Implement Agile Ways of Working to constantly improve team performance.

- Manage project timings, risk and issue resolution, cost, and resource systems.

- Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and expertise across various departments.

- Drive process improvement initiatives within the Vehicle Design Programme Management team.

 

What You Will Bring:

- Proven experience in a Design Studio environment, supporting the creative development process through to delivery.

- Strong project management skills, with a track record of planning, monitoring, and delivering projects.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence others at all levels.

- Knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation, and change management.

- Experience with Agile ways of working and JIRA experience is preferred.
