Ref: 34650 Title: VDS Tech Server Engineer Salary Range: £23.56 - £24.51 Division: Vehicle Engineering Contract Position based at: Gaydon Position Description: System Integration Engineers will define and integrate any signal requested by a feature or a function with Infotainment & Electrical. The VDS Tech Server Engineer needs to also ensure that the DLT logging requirements are also met. Any issues that are raised with respect to the server or the transmission from the P-Sim to the Server will be investigated by the Tech server specialist. There will be a number of vehicles running with P-Sims within internal fleet. If any technical issues arise with respect to the upload of datapackets from the P-sim to the offboard server VDS Tech Server Specialist will investigate ground zero first before assigning to TCS / STC. VDS Tech Server Engineer will also design bespoke dashboards required by the various Triage teams / FMS / Management inc. FEU launch issues. VDS Tech Server will then ensure that the VDS datapackets transition to the offboard server. The tech server needs the understanding of the following programmes: Python, SQL, R & platforms such as Jira and Gitlab. Tech server should have an awareness of the connected car automotive domain. Ensure all security protocols are at an automotive grade and comply with GDPR VDS Tech server will also support any 'client' queries from Triage Dept. and FMS, Management with regards to any dataset requested. VDS Engineer will support the technical delivery of the pre-production VDS / DLT logging OTA domain and then transition to the delivery of Production intent domain server. Skills Required: 3 KEY SKILLS Tech Skills: CAN/ Flexray, MOST, LIN, BroadR-Reach, LINUX, C++ SW Tool Set: CANALYSER, DLT Viewer, PuTTy, ECU Diagnostics tool Defect resolution tools: eTracker, AIMS2.0, Atlassin JIRA, IBM Rational ClearQuest Tool. Lean problem solving tools or Root cause analysis: 8D, 5S, Ishikawa / fish-bone, Standard problem definition Technical report writing to input requirements and specifications into IBM Tools such as DOORS, RTC. In-vehicle network requirements, In-vehicle signal network analysis, System requirements. Use case identification to input into tools in the Feature-DOTS systems such as F-SOI. Experience Required: Experience of working with system design where connected devices are involved, meaning understanding how a device can communicate with a cloud as well as presentation on e.g. a mobile app Experience of connectivity technologies 3G/LTE, Wi-Fi, BLE, GNSS, Ethernet, CAN, Android Accomplished skills in producing, testing and managing the life-cycle of software in VB.net and Matlab A broad understanding and previous experience of applying data analysis techniques. Experience of "big data" related to Telematics, Autonomy, Mobility and Connected Services Expertise in capturing and documenting user and functional requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates strong presentation skills for programme, project reviews Issue Resolution tools: eTracker, AIMS2.0, JIRA, IBM Rational ClearQuest Gitlab & Github platforms - Delivery of agile s.w programmes Experience Preferred: Data Stacks (Python) Understanding of EU regulation GDPR Understanding of RoW Data Protection regulation Ability to provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized terms and data, and ability to present this data to others with different levels of expertise.
