Design Engineer - Glazing/Wipers

Our client a global engineering company are looking for a Principle Engineer to join the part of their company that are responsible for the integration, design and development of the Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, Closures & Mechanisms and Upper body. The Principle Engineer role will specifically be involved in Closure & Mechanisms and work across the following: Bonnet, doors & tailgate BIW structures Release Mechanisms - Locks, latches, door release handles and check straps Side glass and window regulators Window wipers Door, Bonnet & Tailgate Sealing including GRMs Fuel filler modules and release mechanism The Principle Engineer will need engineering skills together with experience of working on Glazing and Wiper systems design and development from concept to production is essential. Role Purpose: Working through the our clients cutting edge Design group, and reporting into a wide range of projects through the Technical Lead, the successful individual will have a good understanding of engineering and be able to adapt to mechanical, composite and electrical systems as projects dictate. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for taking a range of designs from initial concepts through to volume production. This will involve working closely with a range of customers from SMB's to major OEM's to interpret their requirements and deliver engineered solutions within weight, cost and timing targets Operational Duties: Working as a Design Engineer in project teams to undertake a wide range of either mechanical, composite and electrical design projects for a broad customer base. Control Systems Engineer

ROLE PURPOSE: Our client is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to deliver control systems and systems engineering capability to the electrical team. Also in the short term, to provide functional safety knowledge to the electrical team and the wider business RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPERATIONAL DUTIES: Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Electrical Systems, this role will be part of the electrical team delivering Control and Systems Engineering The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering control systems and system engineering activities. Development of engineering documents detailing the requirements of electrical, electronic and control systems and components. Development, testing and calibration of Control Systems software using Matlab / Simulink. Full support of the Systems Engineering V-Cycle This role will require some travel to customer sites, as required. INTERIM RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPERATIONAL DUTIES: In the interim, this role shall also include operating partially in a Functional Safety Engineer role. It is envisaged that this element shall be for an initial period of 2 months and last no longer than 12 months with an average commitment of 1 day per week and tapering downwards. Thereafter, occasional support may be required as necessary. Preparation and maintenance of the business functional safety road map in alignment with strategic goals. With the support and guidance of an external consultant roll-out of company standards and methodologies for Functional Safety analysis/compliance. Our client, a well-known global Tier 1 automotive business are looking for a Lead Engineer to join their team on an initial 12 month period. As the role will require constant communication with colleagues in China the successful candidate must be a confident and clear communicator and you will also need to have had extensive experience within interiors and plastics. Some of the responsibilities for the role will include:- Promoting engineering capability to customer if required, feedback customer demand to team, in order to get RFQ and win more business from technical standpoint. Meet customer to clarify specification and standard requirements for new project bidding and launching projects. Provide feasibility input to support studio design & packaging requirement with TC support. Familiar with customer product develop procedure, Lead regular review (like RMDV and reports, DFMEA) with customer to get signoff. Support physical build on-site if customer required (with plant support) for new launching projects, and feedback the build result and issues in time. Assign all design problem to proper engineering discipline for count measure and give feedback to customer and plant team.
