Our client a global engineering company are looking for a Principle Engineer to join the part of their company that are responsible for the integration, design and development of the Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, Closures & Mechanisms and Upper body. ROLE PURPOSE: Our client is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to deliver control systems and systems engineering capability to the electrical team. Also in the short term, to provide functional safety knowledge to the electrical team and the wider business RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPERATIONAL DUTIES: Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Electrical Systems, this role will be part of the electrical team delivering Control and Systems Engineering The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering control systems and system engineering activities. Development of engineering documents detailing the requirements of electrical, electronic and control systems and components. Development, testing and calibration of Control Systems software using Matlab / Simulink. Full support of the Systems Engineering V-Cycle This role will require some travel to customer sites, as required. As the role will require constant communication with colleagues in China the successful candidate must be a confident and clear communicator and you will also need to have had extensive experience within interiors and plastics. Some of the responsibilities for the role will include:- Promoting engineering capability to customer if required, feedback customer demand to team, in order to get RFQ and win more business from technical standpoint. Meet customer to clarify specification and standard requirements for new project bidding and launching projects. Provide feasibility input to support studio design & packaging requirement with TC support. Familiar with customer product develop procedure, Lead regular review (like RMDV and reports, DFMEA) with customer to get signoff.
