In many ways 2021 has been a remarkable year.
In the UK we have managed to rekindle our economy and get most of our businesses operating efficiently and profitably once again. Despite chronic supply chain difficulties, production output is returning to the norm (with a few notable exceptions) and we have seen a tremendous upturn in the creation and development of innovative, advanced technology companies, many of which are engaged in the advancement of green, sustainable products.
Midway through the year the recruitment market became a candidate driven one, demand for many different skill sets has rapidly increased. We have been inundated with recruitment requests, and the companies with convincing stories to tell, slick recruitment processes and competitive salaries combined with remote and blended working policies are much more successful in attracting the required talent.
COVID has continued to hamper progress and promote safer ways of working, including greater flexibility which has been more effective than many imagined.
I am convinced 2022 will see a continued growth in demand and productivity. Our economy should also continue to grow, although inflation remains a big threat. The COVID problem certainly is not going to go away any time soon, but hopefully it will not prevent most of us having a better Christmas than the last one.
2022 will see good candidates in shorter supply still and our ability to identify and attract the very best talent comes from our 44 years of experience and a very impressive candidate database that will prove invaluable as we strive tirelessly to satisfy our clients requirements.
