I am looking forward to attending Food Matters Live event next week.

The event, which returns to ExCel in London on the 20-22 November, will bring together hundreds of exhibitors, 400 speakers and thousands of visitors from across the global food and drink industry. Food Matters Live is dedicated to creating cross-sector connections focused on the future of food, drink and sustainable nutrition.

There are so many exciting exhibitors and seminars at Food Matters Live to look forward to this year. Free From, an area I have great passion for, is a massive growth area and is very well represented at this year’s show. The impact of 4IR is also a subject for discussion and there are some wonderfully innovative companies showcasing their latest technologies. In addition, many great start-up and scale-up companies will be present, offering a plethora of alternative food choices for both adults and children. Those three areas alone are hugely disruptive, but the food industry has always carried the mantle when it comes to innovation.

I'm looking forward to attending the whole 3-day event and, in particular, the following seminars:

Foodini: the future of real, fresh, nutritious 3D printed food

Lynette Kucsma, Co-Founder, Natural Machines

This session will hear from the founder of Foodini, the new kitchen appliance that combines technology,

food, art and design.

Future-proofing free-from

Including a panel led by: Theadora Alexander, Co-Founder, Young Foodies

With: Ed Williams, Managing Director, Candy Kittens; Pippa Murray, Founder, Pip & Nut; Sara Trechman, CEO & Founder and Well & Truly.

Categories to watch: case studies of innovation in best-selling product

Including case study: “plant-based innovation catering to the free from consumer” with Steve Walpole, Head of Food and Freelance Chef & Consultant, Ugo Food Group.
