Basildon, in the county of Essex lies 32 miles east of Central London. The town was created a new town after World War II in 1948 to accommodate the London population overspill from the joining of four small villages - Pitsea, Laindon, Basildon and Vange. The new town, which took the name of Basildon was the most central of the four villages.

Basildon has something for everyone including shopping, nightclubs, bars and an array of restaurants offering food from around the world. As Basildon has more parks and open spaces than any other town in the country - you are always only minutes away from a splash of greenery or a taste of the countryside.

Conveniently close to London, Basildon also has a road, rail, sea and air network that opens up the country and continent.
