Recruit to save

Whilst recruitment freezes may be happening in some sectors in a bid to reduce costs, Jonathan Lee Recruitment believes that employing people with certain skills could actually save companies money.

Regional Manager, Jon Blaze, says that seriously good procurement people, lean specialists, operations managers and finance professionals could be employed to implement operational improvements that can result in major savings across the organisation.

"Companies could simply parachute in experts on a short-term basis to review suppliers, re-negotiate costs and restructure departments. Although acquiring these skills could cost anything from £400 to £1,000 a day, the short and long-term benefits can be significant and not just to the bottom line but to the company culture" says Jon.
