Focus on
Warehousing
supply chain and third party logistics
For the next few issues,
New Recruit will include a focus on a particular industry that Jonathan Lee
Recruitment serves, with the aim of providing an update on the current issues
affecting that sector and giving an overview of where we fit in and how we
may be able to help your business.
This first instalment, provided by Senior Consultant Clive Molloy, looks at
Warehousing Supply Chain and Third Party Logistics.
The market
The last ten years has seen continuous growth in the UK warehousing and logistics
sector, with an increase in the need for stock movement and storage. The home
delivery market has performed particularly well and is still growing, notwithstanding
the pressures brought about by the credit crunch.
There is still a demand
for continuous improvement, with specialist multinational third party logistics
providers becoming integrally involved in customer supply chain management
as well as in value engineering for their clients. Logistics and warehousing
businesses are continuously required to deliver cost savings in contracts,
with demanding KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and financial penalties for
underperformance.
Continuous improvement
of logistic performance makes it vital that such businesses employ only the
best people, who are capable of making a real difference, driving efficiency
and growth, particularly during the economic downturn.
How can Jonathan Lee
Recruitment help?
With over 30 years experience recruiting for the engineering and manufacturing
industries, Jonathan Lee Recruitment has a wealth of knowledge in continuous
improvement operations. Our dedicated team has a real understanding of the
performance pressures affecting supply chain and logistics companies, as well
as the technical, commercial and contractual aspects of the industry. We have
a successful track record of working with companies in the sector and have
built up an extensive network of contacts, giving us access to the best talent
out there.
Who do we work with?
Jonathan Lee Recruitment currently supports recruitment campaigns for operators
of distribution centres and third party logistics providers, as well as the
systems integrators and facility management companies that supply them. These
companies are all heavily integrated into their customers operations,
with a clear focus on continuous improvement, cost and customer satisfaction.
