Lean

Originally based on the Toyota Production System (TPS) lean manufacturing is an improvement methodology enabling businesses to improve their profitability and competitiveness through the elimination of wasteful operations and practices. By focussing on 'value adding' activity, 'non value adding' operations can be identified and minimised, thus eliminating 'waste' from the process.

However, applying Lean principles has further reaching implications within an organisation. In order to effectively manage and sustain change, the employees and process owners within a company must fully integrate and buy in to a continuous improvement culture, something which the application of mere tools and techniques alone will not achieve.

This is where we at JLR add significant value to your lean journey, identifying and selecting the best individuals with the behavioural and personal skills together with the technical lean toolkit, to successfully bring about change.
Traditionally, lean has been associated with the automotive and manufacturing industries. However, due to its holistic approach, it has now been widely utilised in the service industry, public sectors, building, finance and transactional environments, to name but a few.

JLR are very active in recruiting for these areas, as our successes show, as well as continuing to recruit the high calibre individuals into the manufacturing sector.
