Position Description:

This position will be responsible for support complex NVH issue resolution during the hardware phases of vehicle development up to Final Engineering Confirmation.

The are looking for an Engineer with an Acoustics are Vibration background to join an established NVH Technical team to support experienced NVH Specialist Engineers that are undertaking complex issue resolution on a variety of vehicle programmes.

The resolution of complex NVH Technical Issues is essential to ensure the Premium vehicle attribute is delivered for Powertrain, Wind and Road Noise and Vibration, whilst ensuring efficient strategies are employed to support weight and cost requirements.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of NVH principles and techniques and develop the capability of instrumenting vehicles, capturing objective data from vehicles using accelerometers and microphones and then processing data that can be presented in a format to allow the lead Engineer to interpret the results. He/she must be capable of working both in a team and under own initiative and be prepared to document findings, make recommendations.

Experience Required:

  • Background / experience of acoustics & vibration theory and practises.
  • An understanding of NVH and its application in an automotive environment.
  • Full UK driving licence (or transferable equivalent)
  • Experience of mass properties data handling and analysis
  • Whole vehicle engineering knowledge & cross functional experience
  • Self-motivated, uses initiative and problem solver focussed on delivering results
  • Able to deliver quality and consistency in a complex, highly demanding environment
  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
