Senior CAD Design Engineer (Chassis) - 34134 - up to £26.32/hr

A Senior Design Engineer (Chassis) is required to work for a leading automotive OEM based in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Working on Air Suspension, Roll Control and Spring and Damper Systems for current & future vehicles.

Responsible for:
Packaging of components and creating concept designs and models for future vehicles.
Specialist CAD skills with extensive experience in both Solid and Surface 3D design.
Able to produce 2D detailed drawings to given standards.
Must be proficient in creating and working with KINEMATIC assemblies.
Will be required to release 2D and 3D data in the required Release Formats and Systems.
Must be able to work under own initiative as well as providing CAD support for a cross functional team of Designers, internal / external Engineers and Specialists.
Supporting package reviews to ensure components are positioned in line with FMEA.

Skills Required:


  1. Must be an expert in Catia V5, Teamcentre Tce and VisMockup and 2D and 3D CAD release systems
  2. Must be fully competent at generating, working within and manipulating packages in both Catia and VisMockup, demonstrating full knowledge of design, interrogation and clash detection.
  3. Must be comfortable Interfacing with Project engineers, Manufacturing teams, Packaging teams, Tier 1+2 suppliers and Toolmakers.

Experience Required:

Must be an expert in Catia V5 (+3yrs), Teamcentre Tce and VisMockup
Experience of Chassis systems, or extensive Automotive experience having worked supporting both design and manufacturing functions.
A working knowledge of component manufacture, tooling requirements and lead times would be a distinct advantage
Be responsible for delivering design solutions to program targets and company standards.
