My client, a global provider of pioneering engineering, research and test services to the automotive, defence, aerospace and rail sectors, has a temporary contract vacancy within their very busy procurement department. The role will be to supply administrative support to a small team of buyers to ensure all procurement activities are carried out as per procedure and best practice. This role is critical in supporting the Buying Team who in turn provide critical services to the rest of the business.

The Purchase Order Administrator will:

  • Provide administrative and commercial assistance to the Procurement, Engineering and Test
  • functions to assist in the development of procurement processes
  • Apply company policies whilst interfacing with suppliers and the business in regards
  • to procurement requirements
  • Support the negotiation process with the Buyer and suppliers regarding new requirements on Direct and Indirect purchases
  • Assist in procurement activities to support business objectives and strategic direction.
  • Support in the creation of status reports and KPI monitoring reporting to the Head of
  • Procurement
  • Generate and manage purchase orders as required

The successful Purchase Order Administrator will have the following skills and experience:

  • Procurement or supply chain administration experience
  • Perhaps experience of administration within a procurement department, within a manufacturing, defence, aerospace or automotive environment
  • Experience of Microsoft packages to include Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Confident and able to communicate to senior level
  • Negotiation skills
  • Supplier Management awareness
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the need to work with confidentiality
  • Strong analytical skills and high levels of accuracy and diligence
  • Ability to multitask and work at pace
  • Clean and full driving license required due to the nature of the site. sc2017
