Project Engineer - 34206 - up to £22.06/hr - Powertrain

A Project Engineer is required to work for a leading automotive OEM. The position will be a long term contract role based across mulitple Midland sites and is paying a rate of up to £22.06 Ltd Co per hour.

The successful Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our exciting new vehicle projects which feature all Powertrain system types. This will be a long term contract initially until March 2018 with the potential to be renewed yearly.

Key Tasks include:

  • Manage key performance indicators; closely monitoring financial, sourcing and technical status to targets.
  • Reporting this information to key stakeholders both within and outside the Powertrain department, including senior management.
  • Manage programme finances to an agreed target, including initial investment, material costs and facility requirements.
  • Work with Design & Release teams to ensure resolution of engineering issues and support analysis of the solutions available to meet customer's requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the Bill of Materials and ensuring its completeness. Author formal gateway documentation including gateway approval presentations.

  • Have Strong influence and negotiator skills and able to manage conflict in a positive manner - Able to lead multi-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues, achieving the best outcome for the customer. Working in a team environment and interface directly to the attribute teams, component areas, manufacturing and marketing, sales and service to resolve key technical & financial issues.
  • Must be enthusiastic, with a positive approach and with the ability to proactively communicate within and outside of the department. Leads the team to generate and complete key performance indicators.
  • Experience of and previous application of the product creation life cycle. Understanding of the methods to reduce and remove risk from its delivery.
