An exciting opportunity for a Production Plant Team Leader to join a multi-billion pound company that has over 10,000 employees in over 25 countries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning resource to enable the fulfilment of the plan, communicating changes and risks to the plan to other team leaders and production management.

The Production Plant Team Leader will ensure both their own and the team's compliance to all relevant legislative and local EHS requirements and to ensure compliance with all quality procedures, therefore ensuring all ISO requirements are met. Other responsibilities will include -

  • Manage available resources (people and equipment) to most effectively complete planned work activities
  • Ensure team members are competent and adequately trained to complete work activities, and monitor performance versus the standard.
  • Assess & manage the performance and behaviour of individuals against company standards, values and relevant legislation, including recording and communication of same. Specifically including health capability process, any disciplinary actions, talent reviews, and the formal performance management process.
  • Develop team members to enable them to utilise their full potential ensuring PDPs are produced for all personnel and there is full engagement in the talent review process
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement within your area of responsibility
  • Ensure effective utilisation of process monitoring tools and systems to identify any plant, system or people shortcomings and engage with the team to provide solutions


The Production Plant Team Leader will be qualified with a grade C or equivalent in Maths, English and Science.

Whilst demonstrating experience of effective leadership of people, strong safety awareness, experience with site service operations e.g. steam, cooling water, water treatment. amongst others qualities such as -

  • Exposure to lean approach manufacturing
  • Experience of working with performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Understanding of the requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO15001
  • Experience of implementing talent and workforce planning strategies, organisation design
