A Production Cell Lead (Night Shift) is required to join and Innovative Aerospace manufacturing facility on a Permanent Basis. The successful Production Cell Lead will join the Production Department and report to the Cell Production Departmental Manager.

The Production Cell Lead (Night Shift) will implement agreed production plans to achieve the required level of customer service and quality whilst assisting the Cell Production Manager in the operations management.

The successful Production Cell Lead will develop their team using Continuous Improvement Methods to identify, resolve and improve HSE, quality and production issues.

Responsibilities/Experience Required of the Production Cell Lead (Night Shift)

  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policy's and Regulations
  • Manage production to ensure that quality is maintained to company standards
  • Manage rework and screening of rejects in collaboration with the Quality Support function
  • Co-ordinate quality resource to complete root cause and corrective actions
  • Maintain, analyse and interpret data held within production quality systems
  • Organise resources (machines, tooling, people) and conduct briefings at shift hand-over
  • Ensure team members complete all relevant manufacturing documentation
  • Achieve weekly and monthly KPI's and business goals and Operate across all production cells
  • Ensure first line maintenance in carried out in line with Preventative Maintenance
  • Report all breakdowns to maintenance using the maintenance breakdown system
  • Deputise for Cell Production Manager as and when required
  • Maintain an awareness of operational issues, working to resolve these in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback on general issues affecting the cell operations
  • Conduct Problem Solving Management processes
  • Work with Quality Cell Engineers, and Cell Engineers to implement improvement plans
  • Implement 8D's, 4D's, 5S's & Lean Workshops as required
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing effective interdepartmental working relationships
  • Implement production procedures and policies and communicate to the rest of the team
  • Control of absenteeism, time and attendance, disciplinary interviews and recruitment
  • Authorise overtime as agreed with the Cell Production Manager
  • Manage the performance of the team, including conducting appraisals and setting targets
  • Maintain a direct shop floor presence, operate machines / processes as and when necessary

Qualifications & Requirements of the Production Cell Lead

  • Knowledge of ISO Standards 9001/2000
  • Educated to BTEC HNC Level or Equivalent and Six Sigma Green Belt Qualified
  • An IOSH Managing Safety Qualification and ILM Accredited would be desirable
  • Demonstrate customer focus, initiative, teamwork, transparency, autonomy
  • Demonstrate leadership, communication, negotiation and delegation skills
  • Demonstrate process driven characteristics with a good approach to problem solving
  • Ability to understand technical operations and manufacturing processes
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to coach and mentor a team
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • A good understanding of supplier/customer relationships and a strong customer focus

Security Clearence may be required due to the nature of the Products being Manufactured
