My client are a multi-national manufacturer of electronic and plastic assemblies supplied into various industries.

They are seeking a Process Engineer on a 12 month contract basis supporting printed circuit board assembly. This includes support for technology road maps, process standardisation, design standardisation, assessment to standards, and asset management. This position must influence Engineering and Manufacturing with process and design requirements to improve the long term profitability, quality, and reliability of products.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. The Process Engineer will support the PCB assembly area through process and design verification of components, materials, and equipment using tools such as Design of Experiments, FMEA, and Variable Analysis.
2. Support the standardisation of PCB process and design with the creation of procedures, standards, technical papers, presentations, and training.
3. Assess PCB facilities to process standards and drive corrective action.
4. Proactively research new technologies by bench marking other companies and attending conferences or other technical forums.
5. Provide technical training in PCB and new technology to other engineers.
7. Support projects in the selection and purchase of PCB assets for global facilities.

EDUCATION:

Ideally a Bachelor's degree in engineering science (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial) or a related technical field.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Accumulated knowledge in the application of engineering principals and theories to printed circuit board assembly and soldering technology.
  • Typical 5+ years of direct experience in printed circuit board assembly at Process Engineer level
  • Experience in installing, programming, repairing, or making improvements with electronic assembly equipment, materials, or processes.
  • Experience in sharing technical knowledge through procedures, papers, and presentations.
