A Systems Integration and Design Engineer is required to join a market leading Innovative Aerospace and Defence Technology Company.

The Systems Integration and Design Engineer will report directly to the Director of Technology.

The Systems Integration and Design Engineer will work closely with a wide range of Businesses as well as with customers, suppliers and partners giving team members a unique insight into product development and technology programmes.

The team of Systems Integration and Design Engineers will conduct system modelling to understand the future design architectures for customer'™s products.

The Systems Integration and Design Engineer will then work with business units to develop concept designs for systems and components, as well as building and delivering technology programmes to realise them.

Systems Integration and Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Model Based Systems Engineering of engine or aircraft thermal/electrical systems
  • Develop with customers, enabling fundamental architecture of systems
  • Use systems modelling principles to define specifications for components
  • Develop Preliminary Designs of future systems and components
  • Ensure programmes are targeted at delivering the technology to realise Designs in the future
  • Work closely with universities, customers and suppliers to develop technology programmes
  • Support Sales/Marketing in developing business plans for future products

Technical Skills and Experience Required for the Systems Integration and Design Engineer

  • Knowledge of gas turbine or aircraft fuel systems, oil systems, air systems, thermal systems and heat exchangers would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Fluid and thermal systems modelling and component design
  • Experience with Electrical system modelling and component design
  • Knowledge of CAD layout design, FMEA, mechanical and Engine System Integrity
  • Experience with unit cost and Manufacturing Engineering and a track record of innovation
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated capability to work in a distributed team
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • High energy and drive and the ability to learn quickly
  • A '~strategic mind-set'™ business case/plan experience would be beneficial
