A Powertrain Reserach Engineer is required to work for a leading automotive OEM. The position will be a long-term contract role based in Warwick University, Warwickshire and is paying a rate of up to £25.41/hr Ltd Co per hour.

As a Research Engineer you will be required to;

  • Monitoring future powertrain technologies and developments in academia and the industry.
  • Creating new research projects and identifying suitable worldwide external partners (including universities) to collaborate in this work.
  • Project manage research and development activities using suppliers, CAE and design teams, cross functional project teams and management. Report to senior management at required intervals.
  • Organise and run vehicle, engine, and system tests. Analyse data and recommend design changes. Identifying funding requirements and source for projects

To apply for this position you should have some of the following:

  • Excellent planning and project management skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, good communication skills (both verbal and written), and a good team player.
  • Good working knowledge in at least one of powertrain systems: Primarily Exhaust or Fuel Systems. Air-intake and Urea systems may also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of automotive powertrain requirements concerning performance, fuel consumption, emissions, durability, NVH, and quality.
  • Engineering analytical skills & PC skills.
  • Good working knowledge of alternative/advanced materials.
  • Good knowledge of automotive industry, including competitor and market awareness.
  • Experience of high level programming and analysis tools.
  • Experience of CAD tools such as CATIA.
