A PED/PAT Engineer is required to work for a leading automotive OEM. The position will be a long term contract role based in Gaydon, Warwickshire and is paying a rate of up to £23.59 Ltd Co per hour.

As a Powertrain Unit 'Performance, Efficiency & Driveability Product Attribute Team' ('PED PAT') Engineer, you will contribute towards business success by delivering against the following key objectives, supporting the Powertrain Unit PED PAT Leader:

  • Understanding the technical interactions between vehicle and Powertrain Unit elements, correctly accounting for the overall fuel economy / CO2 and performance impact
  • Helping the identification and validation of a technical design route to ensure that all PED-related Requirements and targets for next-generation Powertrain units are delivered and launched in up-coming vehicle programmes
  • Driving a 'product efficiency mindset' within Powertrain Commodity teams, promoting an acute awareness of the vehicle-level impact of each commodity's energy consumption

To apply for this position you should have some of the following:

  • Recognise and quantify impact of key powertrain system characteristics (conventional & hybrid) and principal vehicle attributes upon vehicle performance, emissions and fuel economy.
  • Ability to manage & interpret technical data; well-developed presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven project & time management skills - Experience of Powertrain technical delivery within either an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Significant technical project / programme management.
  • Knowledge of fuel economy / CO2 improving principles and technologies.
  • Automotive attribute delivery.
  • Powertrain system design / development.
  • Automotive environmental legislation.
  • Powertrain electrification.
