Project Manager (New Product Introduction) - Manufacturing

Does a role leading the execution of focused New Product and Current Product Introduction Projects with an element of global travel appeal? As part of a core product business team you will join in taking responsibility for enhancing ad maintaining the range of products to ensure effective delivery of both customer and business requirements through the life cycle.

Core duties in this NPI Project Manager post will include;

  • Establishing and utilising project management plans and assisting in evaluation of requests.
  • Leading cross functional and Department peers to deliver NPI programme deliverables and delivering Product Management project deliverables.
  • Heading up and executing projects to ensure they meet the customer and strategic requirements are on time, within budget and aligned with the product strategy including taking the lead on assembling the business case for individual project specific requests.
  • Working to remove roadblocks and anticipating potential scenarios in order to mitigate risk and maintain project pace in order to meet project timelines.
  • Developing targets and managing ongoing requirements and team to meet cost, quality and time objectives set and agreed to by cross functional team.
  • Ensure the team is working to a customer-focused agenda by championing the customer viewpoint in internal discussions, while recognising cost and resource constraints.
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to the Product Leaders and act as a delegate for the recruiting Mechanical Engine NPI Manager, CRDI Engine NPI Manager and Product Manager as required.
  • Ensuring the building of relationships with other departments and key customer contacts; being a Subject Matter Expert and trusted advisor.
  • The chairing of meetings and preparation and presentation of materials to internal and external audiences.
  • Identifying trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement.


It is a desire that the successful candidate will offer experience of engine product applications and an understanding of the operating principles of diesel engines and related components, as well as demonstrable commercial acumen - understanding sales, procurement and pricing processes; including generating and reviewing quotations, creating value propositions and negotiation.
