Metrology Inspector - Melksham

We have an exciting opportunity for a Metrology Inspector for a world leading Systems supplier for the design, manufacture of Sub- systems to the rail industry for Platform Screen Door and Braking systems at their facility in Corsham Wiltshire.

Role:
The Metrology Inspector will report to the Quality Manager, the role is to provide measuring equipment expertise to incoming inspection team and measurement support to SQA and Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect a wide variety of components using varying equipment and techniques
  • Investigate non-conformances with the aim of reporting
  • Raise 'reject notifications' with detailed descriptions of non-conformances
  • Determine possible corrective/preventative actions for non-conformances
  • Self-analysis of role and process with view to improvement
  • Maintain inspection environment to a high standard
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure our standards are communicated
  • Provide inspection assistance to the Shop Floor and Engineering
  • Lead initiative on continuous improvement project in relation to Quality Department
  • Ability to perform gap analysis on effectiveness and efficiency measure for the inspection process and report to management on regular basis



Professional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Experienced in use of statistical control / Quality tools
  • Basic understanding on AIAG manual related to SPC and MSA
  • Experience of Inspection of lot processing time
  • MSA coverage experience



Benefits
* Salary - £25,000 to £31,000 - dependent upon experience.
