Salary: £38,000 - £43,000 p/a (Dependant on Experience)

Overview:

We are currently working with our client who currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager who will be full responsible for managing a team of circa 5-10 engineers and fitters' mates.

The role will be encompassing coordinating equipment maintenance - planned, breakdowns and overhauls within strict budgets, and for controlling maintenance subcontractors in line with company policy and procedures.

Role:

  • Responsible for achieving monthly KPI targets and drive continual improvement of the team with a key focus on company values.
  • Prepare site maintenance budget proposals, work within budgets, track expenditure and analyse performance data to report budget variances.
  • Previous people management experience is required for this role as you will provide leadership to Maintenance staff across three shifts and ensure tasks are undertaken according to Company Health and Safety standards and procedures and Quality and Environmental management systems.
  • Maintaining a high standard of staff performance through coaching, training and development.
  • You will set-up, negotiate and manage maintenance contracts and schedules with external providers for specialist equipment or tasks that cannot be repaired by in-house engineers.
  • Control on-site maintenance sub-contractors, including all safety procedures and work schedules, be part of the emergency coordination team and the business continuity team.
  • Ensuring that maintenance requests from the 3 facilities are dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Using your exceptional communication skills you will be able to forge and maintain efficient working relationships with all parts of the plant
  • The successful person will possess a Higher Engineering qualification with good experience of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and material handling equipment and proven engineering management experience
  • Maintenance experience in a fast paced production process environment is essential and E, C & I experience is desirable.
  • You will need to be an enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical and analytical approach to investigating and resolving engineering problems.

Education:

  • Together with proven experience of working at a high level and be fully conversant with material handling equipment in fast paced production lines - conveyors, baling equipment, low voltage equipment, motors, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Safety Systems and Standards. Application of Health and Safety Legislation including PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations, CDM Regulations, LOLER, IOSH or NEBOSH. SAP PM or other CMMS system experience.
  • Knowledge of Criticality and Asset Management systems and ISO 55001 would be an advantage.
