We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Factory Planning Manager to join our FMCG client in Warwickshire. This is a high paced and dynamic environment with the site producing a high volume of lines which are sold through all the Supermarket Multiples including the discounters.

The site has the capability to produce around 13tonnes per year, with over 280 staff operating across 3 automated and 4 manual lines the Factory Planning Manager will plan and co-ordinate site activity though accurate and cost-effective planning of both material supply and finished product.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain you will provide the site management with a robust plan that ensures 100% customer service whilst maintaining efficient manufacturing practices. The Factory Planning Manager will manage the day-to-day needs of the planning department as well as motivate and monitor the team against set KPI's

With the sites busiest period fast approaching, we need an experienced Factory Planner who can hit the ground running and demonstrate their expertise at this critical time of the year. Candidates immediately available or on a short notice period are highly desirable!

About the role

  • Manage, motivate, develop and co-ordinate the activities of the production planners and materials planner, taking ownership of the team, the team's performance and the service provided to the business
  • Set measurable departmental KPI's to performance manage and motivate the team
  • Effectively manage team holidays and absence ensuring no break in effective functional cover
  • Ensure both production planning and materials planning activities are aligned with business forecasts to maintain corporate service level targets
  • Effectively manage both production planning and materials planning to achieve budgeted costs and targets
  • Maintain and report on the site capacities through a comprehensive capacity planning tool, providing support for all potential business growth by identifying key opportunities and risks
  • Calculate site labour costs for new business opportunities based on up to date operational criteria

About you

  • Good understanding of planning principles and capacity planning with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of operating within a fixed budget
  • Self-motivated with a 'can do' approach, to get the job done
  • Able to motivate teams to work effectively
  • Experience of fast moving environment working towards deadlines to ensure OTIF deliveries
  • Experience of working within the food industry
