Dimensional Maturation and Build Engineer - 34002 - up to £30ph

Seeking an experienced Dimensional Engineer with a solid understanding and experience in metrology and manufacturing engineering.

Working for an automotive client who produces luxury prestige vehicles for the global market, your principal responsibility for the team is the dimensional maturation of the body structure, from concept design through to the launch of the finished vehicle.

Key responsibilities as Dimensional Engineer will include:

  • Support the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity Project Engineer in Programme deliverables.
  • Support and drive the build quality performance, monitoring launch sites and addressing any capability issues.
  • Support the Project Engineer in the liaison with other launch sites to prepare and accomplish the handover of dimensional quality activities
  • Support the compliance with corporate initiatives like TS16949, ISO 14001.
  • Represent the Project Engineer / Manager Dimensional Maturation & Build Integrity as required.
  • Identify and drive tasks associated with the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity roles and responsibilities and report status.
  • Support the buy off the virtual product and process validation provided by the Dimensional Management and DVA team for all model lines.

The successful Dimensional Engineer will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • BIW Dimensional Maturation experience.
  • HNC / HND or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience in metrology and manufacturing engineering.
  • Six Sigma experience as Green Belt or Black Belt are beneficial.
  • Experience in the dimensional product on tooling maturation, preferably in the Body Shop.
  • Closure Assemblies and/or Cladding Processes Experience would be ideal but not a necessity.
  • Highly self-motivated, production orientated individuals, with proven team leading and effective communication skills.
  • Flexible in both working location (All Sites) and in time

This is a 7 month contract position offering an hourly rate of up to £30.00, based in Gaydon.
