Digital Modeller - Central London - up to £42 per hour

Overview of Job Role

Our client's Digital contract modellers are responsible for providing high quality digital surface models that represent design direction whilst reflecting the requirements and expectations of the Company product planning brief. This role requires automotive industry experience, the ability to adhere to project deliverables, team-working skills and excellent communication skills, to effectively and efficiently deliver digital projects for production, motor show and Concept vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of digital design via CAD modelling
  • Proactively participate in team work and sharing tasks with other digital modellers within the project team
  • Communicate any concerns over the suitability of the model or project deliverables to the Senior Modellers/DPL and the Design Project Manager
  • Ensure 'Best Practice' is followed at all times

Key Tasks Defined

  • Effectively utilise the latest Design tools and techniques to illustrate proposals
  • Communicate design concepts and ideas effectively, whilst maintaining a high-level of data quality
  • Attend and support project planning meetings to ensure understanding of the project direction is clear
  • Obtain and follow timing plans and keep within the allowable cost targets
  • Ensure effective communication with all Business partner / stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Maintain an overall involvement and understanding of the project needs

Skills and Attributes Required

  • An organised timely approach to working practices
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally within an efficient yet effective manner.
  • Motivational and proactive approach to teamwork is essential
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, skills should include:Sketch modelling, Class A surfacing, CAD Data Conversion, Visualisation
  • And some of the following: Photoreal Lighting & Rendering, Polygon Modelling & Re-topology, UV Unwrapping, Sculpting, Texturing, Animation, Digital Retouching/Compositing

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Experience within a design studio environment is essential
  • Demonstrable expertise in the Design Industry
  • Knowledge of automotive design and engineering
  • A degree in Automotive Design or equivalent
