To apply for this role you should be educated to degree or Masters level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline with a proven track record in Speech recognition and a number of years experience in the automotive or related industry.

You will have detailed technical understanding of speech recognition technologies and techniques including microphone positioning, and background noise suppression methods.

Technical understanding of Text-to-Speech (TTS) engines including fixed vocabulary and dynamic string handling.

Understanding of processing power, speed and response times for speech recognition and in-vehicle bus communication to other ECUs. Understanding of applicability of voice control to various driver control tasks and driver behaviour and user limitations in terms of visual, manual and cognitive workload.

Knowledge of speech recognition and TTS techniques, natural language speech techniques, limitations and technical challenges for the future. Also, knowledge of avatar applications and limitations.
