Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic

Performs the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and gasoline powered light and heavy wheeled vehicle systems.

Systems include, but are not limited to:

• hydraulic systems,
• cooling systems,
• transmission and transfers,
• brake and suspension systems,
• electrical systems of Light, Medium, and Heavy families of vehicles and trailers.

Requirements

All mechanics must read and write in English to the level necessary to use Technical Manuals. Mechanics should be capable of performing services and repairs to Tactical and Non-Tactical Vehicles by the vehicles OEM standards.

Formal Training Required

A formal qualification in vehicle maintenance is required. Alternatively, a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience of working on relevant vehicles or equipment may be considered.
