Presentation of your CV
How To Present Your CV
- Always provide a covering letter with your CV, this can save time on re-writing your CV each time you apply for a role, as it can highlight points specifically relevant to this position.
- Keep your CV as concise as possible – 1 -3 pages is acceptable.
- Use clear typeface and plenty of white space to avoid overcrowding – your CV must be easy to read quickly.
- Avoid any excessive narrative. Use bullet points and short, snappy sentences.
- If posting or handing in, print on one side of good quality, white paper, and staple it together. Use a full size envelope, do not fold you CV.
- If emailing your CV use a Microsoft Word format where possible. Do ensure that the file sent is not password protected, and that the file size is not too large.
- Remember - Your CV will decide whether or not you are selected for interview – a good CV will show you have taken time and effort to apply for the role, a bad CV will show sloppiness and a lack of commitment.
