Simon started work as a craft apprentice at TI Matrix Machine Tools, qualifying as a machine tool fitter, before working as a service engineer. During this time he completed ONC and HNC qualifications in Mechanical and Production Engineering, before returning to full-time education at Brunel University. Graduating with a 2:1 honours degree in Design and Technology with Education, he went on to gain a Masters degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology at Cranfield.
Following graduation, he joined Ingersoll Engineers as a Manufacturing Consultant and implemented Cell Manufacturing, JIT and TPM for clients in the UK and Italy. Further periods of employment were gained at GPT where he was responsible for new product introduction. Placed by Jonathan Lee Recruitment he joined a manufacturer of Heat Transfer products where he was responsible for manufacturing and Health, Safety and Environment.
He has worked at Jonathan Lee since 1994 and heads up the Manufacturing function of the business. He has handled numerous manufacturing and HSE recruitment assignments at all levels. As a chartered engineer, member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and an associate member of IOSH he maintains an active interest in Manufacturing and HSE matters.
