The secret behind the world’s best
We all know vehicles are getting safer, faster and more fuel efficient, but many motorists fail to realise that a UK company is behind many of the innovative solutions that drive this progress. Whether you consider the record breaking Thrust SSC or JCB DIESELMAX, this year’s championship winning British Touring Car, or the prestigious McLaren Mercedes SLR supercar to name but a few, MIRA really are the secret behind the world’s best.
Established in 1945; 60 years on MIRA remains the UK’s leading automotive design and development specialist. The headquarters are based in Warwickshire, just outside Nuneaton in a highly secure 760 hectare site. From this base, and others located at strategically significant points around the world, MIRA provide a technically rewarding - yet cost effective service to its global client base. Working across the spectrum of the latest technologies, MIRA is a cornerstone of the international automotive development market.
The major vehicle makers and their tier 1 and 2 supply chain rely closely on MIRA’s expertise and facilities; right from the initial concept of a new vehicle development programme, through to final certification. Only a few years ago this process would require significant numbers of prototype vehicles; each prototype costing hundreds of thousands of pounds. These days MIRA employ a combination of virtual engineering tools in concert with 30+ multi-million pound development facilities to slash both development timescales and the requirement to build costly prototypes in quantity.
Jonathan Lee Recruitment has worked closely with MIRA since 1986, using our automotive knowledge and expertise to place highly specialised candidates into this industry-renowned consultancy. We pride ourselves in being a preferred supplier of recruitment services to MIRA, a status awarded to us in recognition of our ability to provide relevant recruitment solutions to this world-class company.
