Rick Suverkrop

Rick Suverkrop joins Jonathan Lee Recruitment’s Manufacturing Team as a Recruitment Consultant having previously spent 35 years in industry most of which in the Automotive Component Manufacturing sector. He has held various human resource, production and operations management roles including Operations Manager responsible for a site of 500 people.

As Operations Manager Rick was involved with a major culture change initiative through the successful implementation of a lean manufacturing strategy. This involved the instalation of, and training of all site personnel in, all aspects of the ‘lean’ approach including reduction of waste, 5S, standard operating procedures and Kaizen performance improvement techniques. He was also a key member of the Project Team implementing ISO 9000 TS1694.9 and gaining successful third party accreditation.

Prior to his appointment as Operations Manager in 2000 Rick had worked as a consultant to a major friction material manufacturer reporting to the Managing Director. The primary function of this role was to lead manufacturing process improvements and secondly re-establish the Brand in a specific geographical area that had been under competitor pressure for some time.

Finally from 2004 Rick had been involved with the development and instalation of bespoke Lean transformation in organisations as diverse as small entrepreneurial manufacturing enterprises to large Governmental Financial institutions. Rick holds a B.Soc.Sci (hons) in Psychology and the post graduate Advanced Executive Programe from UNISA. His strong background in general management, production management and people management will undoubtedly prove beneficial to the manufacturing team.
