A Jonathan Lee sourced contractor, Ms Sylvia LaPlume, has received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service after demonstrating outstanding leadership and supply expertise. She was placed as a Senior Standard Army Maintenance System Clerk reporting the United States 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in Schweinfurt Germany.

“The SAMS-E role was a fantastic opportunity to take part in something outside of the scope of normal engineering placements, and I hope to return to assist on the next tour,” said Sylvia. “Working for Jonathan Lee with Defense Support Services was really enjoyable, and getting to grips with the challenges of the busy site was a step change from previous postings.”

Sylvia was working on a US Army enterprise resource planning logistics information system called SAMS-E (Standard Army Maintenance System Enhanced.) SAMS-E is considered to be mission critical in supporting a full-fleet deep maintenance and overhaul programme called RESET being undertaken by the Brigade.

The award states “Ms LaPlume’s superb leadership, expertise and commitment to excellence was instrumental in the success of Task Force Saber’s mission” it goes on to say “her indomitable actions reflect distinct credit upon her.”
