Jessica, HR recruiter at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, said:  “The Summer Skills programme is highly useful for students that are in first and second year to get an idea of how to get a job after university. A lot of universities do not have a programme that is as in-depth as the one provided by Birmingham University. For third year student it offers pointers of what to do after they leave education in terms of CV writing, using job boards, what recruitment agencies do and how they can be beneficial in helping them be successful in securing employment and other ways to attract employers to their CV in a market saturated by graduates leaving university. Greg and I had a great time meeting the student and getting to know their concerns and fears regarding leaving university with no secure employment. It was a great opportunity to impart advice and provide guidance to the next generation of engineers and graduates”.
