TMETC retains Jonathan Lee Recruitment Managed ServicesAfter completing a competitive bid process, Tata Motors European Technical Centre plc (TMETC) has chosen to retain Jonathan Lee Recruitment as its master vendor for permanent and contract recruitment. Jonathan Lee Recruitment has enabled TMETC to attract and retain high-calibre staff in a competitive market while matching recruitment capacity to the increased business demand.

TMETC is a wholly-owned subsidiary and R&D centre for Tata Motors Limited, with expertise in advanced engineering and research, design, whole vehicle product development and manufacturing engineering. There continues to be significant investment from the parent company, Tata Motors Limited, with the recent announcement of TMETC’s participation in the £100m National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) which is due to be completed in early 2017.

Since the original appointment of Jonathan Lee Recruitment in December 2011, the tailored end-to-end recruitment solution has delivered significant efficiencies to TMETC’s recruitment operations. The continuation of the managed recruitment model is testament to its success to date as the business continues to expand, having enjoyed substantial growth in the last three years.

“The relationship with Jonathan Lee Managed Services has developed over the first three years of the service into a true business partnership. They have supported TMETC’s drive to be a world-class automotive R&D centre and to become an ‘employer of choice’ for talented people in the automotive industry,” said James Billingham, Purchase and Business Process Manager of TMETC.

“The bespoke and robust processes implemented by Jonathan Lee Recruitment have focused and streamlined the way TMETC manages its recruitment supply chain and working contractor base with great effect to date” says Jayne Wogan, Head of Account Services for Jonathan Lee Recruitment.

Wogan continues: “The current fierce competition for talent in the technical and automotive sectors is unprecedented. We recognise that continuing to attract and retain the best talent in both technical and business functions is a huge challenge. Our approach is driven by personal account management, industry expertise and market intelligence, backed up with effective bespoke technology solutions. We strive to really understand our client’s ever-changing business and staffing needs and then evolve our services to address the specific requirements.”

Billingham concludes: “Jonathan Lee Recruitment's account management team has gone to considerable efforts to understand our business and the way it operates. This knowledge is used to project an informed and comprehensive picture of TMETC when acting on our behalf. I am confident that the engagement and commitment will continue to deepen, and that we will be able, in partnership to meet the challenge posed by the increasing skills-gap”.
