Specialist recruiter launches Medical Device division

Specialist recruiter commits support to medical device manufacturers with launch of dedicated division.

With the launch of a dedicated medical device division, engineering and manufacturing recruitment specialist Jonathan Lee Recruitment has reinforced its commitment to supporting the UK medical device industry.

Currently worth in excess of £17.6bn, the UK medical devices sector has grown to employ over 76,000 people across 3,300 companies.

Much of this growth has been driven by the 3,000 medical technology companies based in the West Midlands focused on bringing technological innovation to the healthcare sector across a spectrum of opportunities ranging from novel drug delivery mechanisms to monitoring and diagnostic systems.

The South East is a hotbed of medical devices manufacturers, boasting the largest concentration of medical device companies in the UK and generating approximately £600m in combined revenue.

As the sector grows further still, the UK medical device industry will offer a huge range of employment opportunities [in the region], from highly skilled manufacturing and engineering roles through to operational, commercial and supply chain positions. However the industry is facing a skills shortage as companies struggle to find candidates to fill advertised vacancies.
