Latest JLR charitable initiative raises money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund

Last week's wonderful weather perfectly coincided for the latest JLR charitable initiative.
Friday was declared a dress down day in return for a charitable donation from staff, who swapped ties and shirts for shorts and polos.

It was a welcome relief from the heat and raised a tidy amount. The donation, alongside additional sponsorship from the JLR Directors and other members of staff, was added to the fund raising efforts of our HR Business Partner, Lucy Edgar, who participated in the Bridgnorth Walk on bank holiday Monday.

The sponsorship was a welcome bolster to her charity efforts, with all proceeds from the dress down day and walk going to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Lucy commented: “The 22 mile Bridgnorth Walk, from Bridgnorth up to the top of Brown Clee, has over a 2,500 foot elevation over the course so it’s pretty tough! A friend of ours died of pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago and a group of us, led by his daughter, have been trying to beat our fundraising target year on year.

"This year has been the best yet and it makes a huge difference when you’re slogging up the hills to have the backing of a great bunch of colleagues behind you!”

Well done Lucy!
