Food manufacturers are optimistic despite Brexit challenges

Posted by: Katherine Garratt 15 Nov 17 - 2:46PM  | Recruitment
Jonathan Lee Recruitment FMCG division exhibited at the Food and Drink Engineering and Processing Summit last week and are pleased to report that the food and drink sector is upbeat despite market uncertainty.

Dan Plimmer, FMCG lead commented “It was great to see so much positivity, innovation and excitement in the food industry, even with Brexit on the horizon. Companies are reverting to that true British attitude of ‘getting on with it’!

“Organisations want to trade and grow, with visitors and exhibitors recognising that a good, credible recruitment firm such as Jonathan Lee Recruitment could help them to find quality professionals, which will ultimately help them to grow.”

Accessing skills

During the show David Woakes, group business development manager, also provided a short presentation on a critical topic; accessing skills. David addressed the ever-pressing skills shortage by presenting a 5 point plan that offers employers a head start in finding and attracting the best candidates. Additionally,  4IR (4th Industrial Revolution) and 'how to recruit millennials' were discussed.
