DVD (Defence Vehicle Dynamics) 2014 - Millbrook 25th and 26th June.

4 Jul 14 - 9:18AM  | Aerospace

Seen as one of the premier global events for the Defence industry, DVD is now being held every two years so as not to clash with the slightly less hands on, in our opinion DSEi exhibition.

Jonathan Lee Recruitment created its specifically focussed Aerospace and Defence team in 2012 to concentrate its successful track record of supply into the sector. Including a number of programmes completed to resource Land Vehicle and hi-tech component part manufacture and support.

The DVD event proved to be a positive and successful one for us with a number of very good enquiries developed, both from planned client meetings and also a number of organisations approaching our stand with engineering and professional role requirements.

Overall the event seemed a little Quieter than it has been in previous years, however the general consensus from all that we spoke to was one of a much more positive feeling – given the DE & S budget cuts taking a while to settle down this is maybe no surprise. However new programmes and a more detailed future requirements plan such as the MRV-P vehicle show there is still good scope and opportunity to work in the sector.

The Jonathan Lee stand was on site supporting another body that we have had significant activity with over the years – The MIA (Motor Industry Association) and their Motorsport into Defence initiative. A number of other suppliers took part and exhibited and we all had the chance to explain a little to the Minister for DE&S Philip Dunne MP - Minister for DE&S, who spent most of Wednesday morning at Millbrook.

The Aerospace & Defence team was able to also be involved with and attend a number of the excellent industry briefings which gave a real insight to the issues and areas of development / plans from current senior service personnel. With our track record of support across the MENA region and ability to find individuals with experience of land and air projects this has allowed us to progress opportunities with a number of individuals.

We are also exhibiting at the Farnborough International Airshow 14th to 18th July so it will be interesting to establish a the view from the aviation and aerospace sector, which appears to be as buoyant with the Commercial Sector continuing to have a huge demand for engineering, design and manufacturing professionals.
