Cupcakes & Football, a great day at Jonathan Lee

Posted by: Jayne Wogan 16 Jun 16 - 3:09PM  | Recruitment

With the exciting prospect of England vs Wales in Euro 2016 this afternoon, the team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment was definitely in need of a sugar rush.  So it was great that the match coincides with our support for the Alzheimer’s Society annual Cupcake Day as part of our charity calendar.

Alzheimer’s Society provides vital support, care and resources for those living with dementia and those who care for people affected.  The Jonathan Lee team rose to the challenge as always, and we’ve had a superb response, with the kitchen brimming with both home-made and bought cakes.

All of the home-made cakes were entered into a competition to find our own ‘Star Baker’ and our Managing Director, David Hale kindly stepped up to judge the cupcakes.  Huge congratulations to Theresa Durham whose beautiful sugary creations won the day!  Theresa was presented with her prize as the cake-sale opened.  Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the winning batch was devoured, which is no surprise when you see how good they looked!

We’re also supporting the home nations who play at Euro 2016 today – staff are taking part in a dress-down day and the match is being streamed around the offices this afternoon so that we can cheer on the teams.   Good luck to both England & Wales.  May the best team win!

We'll let you know the total raised later this week.
